Take note that if the event schedule for us doesn’t differ from that in JP, this event should overlap with the Orb Dungeon. If you are a relatively new player just joining recently, take full advantage of that and strengthen your party before taking on this event! For veterans, you might want to postpone starting this event and farm more orbs//EXP/Gil in the Orb Dungeon too!

This is a relatively short event as there will only be a total of 13 dungeons: 10 regular dungeons + 3 bonus ones.

These dungeons will be split into two categories: Rescue and Pursuit.

When a Soul Fire possesses a target, it “leaves” the battle (hence untargettable) and will cast Fira on the possessed target every turn. This battle can be trivialised with Reflect/Carbuncle. Don’t worry about Fira bouncing back to a Soul Fire (and healing it), the more important thing is you avoid the damage. Don’t forget to exploit weakness for medals!

Pretty tanky for Boss #1. Make full use of your thunder abilities. Slowing Guard Scorpion is a good idea, but if you can’t fit in a Slow ability it’s fine, Power Break(down) and Protectga should take care of incoming damage. Just make sure you don’t cause yourself more trouble by attacking it when its tail is up.

Commentary
Since this Air Buster is much stronger now, let’s go in depth about its mechanics:


Air Buster has two phases: Normal phase and Out of Ammo phase.

In its normal phase, it will counterattack all actions done against it. You can counter this by either using Stop (either Aerith’s default SB or the ability Stop itself), or Retaliate.

For those who are patient, a viable strategy is actually to defend and wait until the boss runs out of Big Bomber ammo (a message will be displayed). The boss has four Big Bomber uses. When Air Buster runs out of ammo, it can no longer counterattack. You are then free to take him down by various means (remember to exploit weaknesses for medals!) Power Break(down) + Protectga is recommended if you’re using this strategy since you’ll be tanking quite a few turns worth of attacks.

Commentary
Remember it is pointless to kill the little OPTs as any one missing OPT will be re summoned. Paralyze or Stop the boss and focus your attacks on the main body. Aerith’s default SB will do well here. It’s a good idea to use your first charge of Sentinel’s Grimoire here  (if you choose to bring it).

Commentary
Draw Fire + Retaliate is great here as all attacks are physical. Focus on killing the dog first so that it will stop buffing Rufus. Also, use things like Power Break(down) and Protectga (and Sentinel’s Grimoire) for minimal incoming damage.

Don’t be intimidated by this super buffed up Jenova LIFE. If you keep her Stopped, it is possible not to take damage at all for the entire fight! That leaves you with all the time you need to kill her.

Use Armor and Mental Breakdowns to increase overall damage of the party. Also, Poisoning her will make the fight even faster!

You definitely want to make use of the defensive Breakdowns (especially Magic Breakdown) here to reduce incoming damage. Make sure to couple it with Protectga/Shellga/Sentinel’s Grimoire. Poison her as well for huge poison ticks.Once you’ve got the defensive setup done, then it’s time to go all out with offensive Breakdowns coupled with your strongest abilities.Other utilities that are great to have include Dismissal.

  2. Barrett does not look very useful with his weak stats. I wish they would make ranged characters at least close to melee in power.

  3. Is Aerith’s Memory Crystal actually obtained from #6, or is that a leftover from previous event?

  4. What’s the rationale behind putting buster sword and hardedge in set #2? I personally wouldn’t mind getting the former because it looks nice, but that and diamond pin are the only good relics there.

    1. you know that some people were lucky enough to get Organics in their first pull, so if they missed the early Cloud SB words, they can try for them in banner 2. Since you can learn soul breaks, it just takes a little leveling to learn them.

  5. hello all, could anyone explain clearly on banner event and why some ppl think to save mythril comparing to this orbs and lucky draw events. does it have huge drop bonus ?

    secondly, about this cloud new weap called organics it obtain thru usual 50 mythril draw right? which is the chance not as big as lucky draw ? thank you in advance your future kind explanation.

    1. cause the new weapon organics gives a permanent +10 atk when blade beam is mastered

      1. thx for the flash response, but with usual draw we dont might get it even i got 150 mythril or 500 mythrils on my pocket right? if that true i would rather spend my 100 mythril to orb event. which i could have more certainty honing my skills and the other 50 for lucky draw. what do you think ? any other kind comment will help me so much to decide how i spend my mythril (or maybe also other ppl who reads my question and the comment). thank you so much in advance for any future kind comment.

        1. Dude, the lucky draw doesn’t seem to include organics, since it says relics available through 18/10
          but the lucky draw includes 5* relics with soulbreaks with half the price, so its a good deal to spend 50 mythrils on 2 draws and the rest to refill stamina on the orb dungeons. If you feel like it, you can do one more draw for 25 instead of farming orbs.. thats up to you! good luck on your draws and farming, may RNG be with you!

        2. I got Organics my first 50 draw. I specifically save Mithril for events I would like to use them on as I don’t spend money for chances to draw. I choose to try for it because the SB is a “ranged attack” that triggers 3 times along with the permanent +10 ATK bonus. That pretty much cements it for me.

      1. congratz … how lucky u are. i never got unique sb with that 50 draw except keeper’s books. but i got usual 5 * relic though. quite happy with it. so for now i dont think i m lucky enough with that organics. im going to use it for orbs and all the lucky draws. they are my luckiest draw ever for me.
