Ignore the probes and tunnel the main body. Apply Breakdowns/Full Break and go all out with lightning abilities.

If you don’t have the damage to push for a pre Megido Flame kill, bring an AoE heal RW (or your own if you have one) and heal after Corona is used, and before MT8 uses Megido Flame, make sure you have mitigation up.

  • The battle starts with 2 Propagators. There can only be a max of 2 Propagators on the field at any point of time.
  • If one Propagator dies, another one spawns immediately. This will continue until the 5th Propagator spawns.
  • You have to defeat all 5 Propagators to end the battle.

Control the Propagators well with Slow and Blind. Use their weaknesses to Ice to take them down quick. If you have great mage synergy consider AoEs like Meteor / Bahamut / Maduin / Valefor / Shiva.

Propagators can be annoying if Blind lands. If you do not bring Esuna, it would be wise to use 100% accuracy abilities like Lifesiphon and Pound.

Shellga should be up at all times, Thundaga hits like a truck if not mitigated. I highly recommend having lightning-resistance equipment on everyone. Do note that having multiple lightning-resistance gear on one character does NOT stack the effect.

Strategy
First off, Bahamut is really fast. Slowing him is mandatory.

Carbuncle is great here since you won’t have to worry about Stop or Thundaga. You’ll have to heal through Tornado and Ultimate Megaflare somehow though. I don’t recommend Carbuncle, especially for the quest.

If you don’t wish to use the Carbuncle strategy, I would suggest equipping some lightning-resist accessory to reduce Thundaga damage because it hurts a lot.

As for Ultimate Megaflare, since it ignores RES, you’re going to have to stack Full Break + Magic Breakdown (or even more with other ATK/MAG reducing Soul Breaks).
