No need to overthink for this fight. This used to be challenging as you have fight this immediately right after Orthros & Typhon, but this isn’t the case for this event.

If you can grab a Balthier / Red XIII / Terra RW with Tides of Fate / Trine / Trance Flood, and couple that with an AoE or two of your own, this fight is in the bag.

Strategy
These brothers do a lot of magic, so bringing Carbuncle is great. However do note you may be reflecting the “wrong” element back. For example, Thundara reflecting back to Moebius (who then absorbs it). Nevertheless, Carbuncle is a decent strategy. The next best alternative to the Carbuncle strategy is to get a Runic Blade RW.Anonther alternative for those without Carbuncle is to tank up the party with a combination of Shellga/Boon + Sentinel’s Grimoire + Magic Breakdown. To actually kill them, you can do it slowly by focusing down targets one by one, or you can use AoEs like summons/Quake.If you’re killing them one by one, I suggest taking down Curlax first as he is able to heal all brothers with White Wind.

Blizzaga: Deal heavy ice damage to one target.
Cure: Recover a small amount of HP to one target.
Reflect: Cast Reflect on self.
Osmose: Reduce the ability uses of one target

Strategy
Notes:

  • Wrexsoul will change to “Strong state” when Soul Savers are defeated.
  • When Wrexsoul uses Fury (i.e. he possesses someone), he disappears from battle. He will reappear when you attack the possessed member.
  • The battle ends when you defeat Wrexsoul.

There are a few ways to do this fight.

  1. Carbuncle
The idea here is to bounce of spells so you don’t take damage from them. You then proceed to kill Wrexsoul with ice abilities. You can use Protectga/Lunatic High to reduce physical damage.
  2. Runic Blade
With Runic Blade up, you’ll not be taking damage (bar physical attacks) at all plus you get ability charges. You then proceed to kill Wrexsoul with all your ice abilities.
  3. Control
In this strategy you aim for a slow but controlled fight. You start by tanking up the party with Shellga + Sentinel’s Grimoire. Magic Breakdown helps a lot too obviously. You then proceed to focus on taking down Wrexsoul.

It is advisable to ignore the Soul Savers since killing them makes Wrexsoul even stronger.

  1. at 2nd bonus battle, the 2nd video you write it (no heal) but the person on that video bring curaga and use it once. must be for other video. now for my question : if the dragon at 3rd bonus battle vulnerable to berserk, why not use it? that will seal all their magic skills right?

    1. Berserk doesn’t necessarily shut down all magic attacks. Berserk usually blocks all but 1 ability. In some cases, that 1 ability can be a magic. It really depends on how their AI are scripted.

If I’m not remembering wrongly, Red Dragon when Berserked will still be able to cast magic.

  2. On the equipment pack, that Shimering blade is a shield that add ATT and Res?

    1. DeNA screwed up that one. When the event goes live they’ll probably update that particular image.

      1. So DeNa screw it or pass unnoticed until now?

  3. Shouldn’t the battle against Wrexsoul yield an Amulet rather than a Rune Armlet?

    1. You are right. I was copying the table from Golbez’s event and overlooked the rewards. Will fix it, sorry and thanks!

  4. Cyan is listed as obtainable from Dungeons 7 and 8.

    1. Fixed, sorry about that, and thanks!

  5. Why Cyan’s stats and SB equipment description is not around?

    1. I usually only include stats of characters with newly released Memory Crystals. In this case it’s Terra. Cyan’s MC is in a story dungeon so his 65 stats aren’t “new”, if you get what I mean.

That said, if you really want to see his info, you can check the following link: https://ffrkstrategy.gamematome.jp/game/951/wiki/Character_FF%20VI_Cyan

      Hope you understand, thanks!

  6. Hey Flip, i just wanted to say thank you for doing all this work for the community of FFRK,just thank you a lot man.Keep it up!

  7. Just curious, would Wrexsoul go into its strong state if the soul saver is petrified?

Also, thanks for all your work on this site!

    1. That’s a very good question. AFAIK, Petrify doesn’t count as KO (at least that is applicable to allied characters). Though, I believe when you successfully Petrify an enemy target, it follows with a death animation indicating that the enemy target is KO’d. So if you Petrify the soul savers, I think Wrexsoul will still enter his Strong state.

      1. In FF games, battles end when full party (your’s or opponent’s) is petrified. If there’s still someone able to fight, battle continues.

        1. If Wrexsoul actually had a Strong state, it would be activated by setting Petrify on the Soulsavers.

  8. Both drop downs for the relic banners say “Set #2.” I’m assuming the first one should say “Set #1”?

  9. Just want to note that Deathgaze also drops Greater Holy Orb in 2nd round.

    1. Actually, I’ve gotten one in every round. =O

  10. WEAK Fire (Shiva) / Ice (Fire)
ABSORB Fire (Ifrit) / Ice (Shiva)

You had to write Ice (Ifrit), not Ice (Fire) lol

Thanks for the info flip :3 I love how you help me to finish events~~

    1. Whoops, that’s gotta be the worst typo yet lol. Fixing it now, thanks!

  11. How do we know which character is possessed by this ****** wrexsoul ?

    1. No way to tell as far as i know, but what I did was have my mages attack party members

      1. Okey, thx, that’s what i already do, i’ll try and reset again and again ^^
Better site on ffrk i’ve found, so far better than the official french one !!

        1. Oh … that’s because i kept my Wakka lvl 54 instead of my lvl 65 Kaïn ^^ I destroyed Wrexsoul !! Mouahaha, Cyan can wake up in serenity from this nightmare !!
